Get ready, basketball fans! Athletes Unlimited is gearing up for an electrifying fifth season of women's basketball, and the roster is absolutely stacked. On January 15, 2026, the Associated Press announced the final lineup, promising a thrilling competition starting on February 4th in Nashville.
The roster is a fantastic blend of experience and fresh talent, with 20 returning players ready to build on their past successes, alongside 20 newcomers eager to make their mark.
Among the returning stars, you'll find familiar names like Tina Charles, the WNBA's all-time leader in rebounds and made field goals. Joining her are WNBA veterans such as Ariel Atkins, Alysha Clark, Kia Nurse, a three-time Olympian, Odyssey Sims, Aerial Powers, Kiah Stokes, Brianna Turner, Isabelle Harrison, and Bria Hartley. These players bring a wealth of skill and experience to the court, making every game a must-watch.
But that's not all! The excitement continues off the court as well. Lexie Brown, chair of the AU Pro Basketball Player executive committee, will have her father, former Celtics star Dee Brown, on hand. He will be working with Danielle Viglione helping coaches Zak Buncik, Edniesha Curry, Chaz Franklin and Kia Vaughn.
The competition will be fierce, as other players such as Aneesah Morrow, NaLyssa Smith, Jacy Sheldon, Te-Hina Paopao, Zia Cooke, Deja Kelly, Kaitlyn Chen, Jaylyn Sherrod, and Aaliyah Nye are also set to compete.
Megan Perry, Athletes Unlimited's vice president of basketball, highlighted the high caliber of talent, stating that the roster is filled with players who are driven to compete against the best. The AU format, featuring 5-on-5 basketball, is sure to showcase their skills in an exciting and dynamic way.
"The depth across all 40 spots is exceptional, and it's going to make this one of the most challenging and compelling seasons we've had," Perry emphasized.
The 2026 season will be held for the second year in a row at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, running from February 4th to March 1st.
