The staff for the television anime adaptation of Tadatoshi Fujimaki's manga, Kill Blue, announced that Ikumi Hasegawa is joining the cast as Mai Otohime, a marine sports prodigy known as the "Mermaid Queen" with a dual personality. The anime premiered on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ on April 11, 2026, and on AT-X on April 17, 2026. It also began streaming in Japan on the same day. Amazon Prime Video and Netflix are streaming an English dub for the series. The anime is also available on Crunchyroll, Rakuten Viki, Plex, Samsung TV Plus, Vizio WatchFree+, and the It's Anime YouTube channel in North America. The series marks CUE's first main animation production studio venture, with Hiro Kaburagi directing and Miho Daidōji designing the characters. South Korean girl group aespa performs the opening theme, "ATTITUDE," while South Korean boy band RIIZE performs the ending theme, "KILL SHOT."
